Job Description

Office Assistant

 

DRIVE509 is a Commercial Driver License (CDL) training school. We are looking to add an office assistant to our team. We work hard, take pride in our training program and value customer service. Part-time with the opportunity to advance to full-time.

Summary:
Provide administrative support to DRIVE509 staff. Assist with customer service for internal and external customers. In this position, you will perform clerical tasks, answer phones, make copies, provide excellent customer service in person and over the phone and other general office duties.

Other duties will include assisting office administrator or instructors with preparing documents, organizing files, managing existing documents, perform data entry and do light cleaning.

Education and/or Experience:
Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to walk in customers and over the phone.
  • If a student or customer comes in the office, greet them and assist with their registration or provide information.
  • Greet and direct visitors/participants and inquiry phone calls to appropriate staff. When appropriate, refer phone or walk-in inquiries to community resources such as Worksource, Department of Labor, North Idaho College.
  • Maintain student database for Workforce Training Board portal.
  • Accurately prepare and maintain copies of school/student packets:
    • Student folders
    • Hazmat folders
  • Assist with student enrollment when office staff is absent or occupied.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and directives of DRIVE509 assuring safety of personnel or property.
  • Work collaboratively with instructors to provide up-to-date forms in packets and folders.
  • Dress in a professional office manner.
  • Maintain agency confidentiality. Violation of confidentiality is cause for immediate dismissal.
  • Clean office and classroom.
  • Assist with special projects such as updating payroll time sheets, grant applications, other databases or customer service databases.
  • Update social media accounts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Other requirements:

Need to have a valid driver’s license and be able to legally work in the United States.

Must have a good driving record.

DRIVE509 is a drug-free workplace. Employees may be selected for random drug screens.

We are a fun crew and a good sense of humor is a must.

Preferred experience:

3 years customer service experience.

Former or retired CDL holders are encouraged to apply.

Starting wage: $16/hour. Possibility of flexible schedule or regular part-time hours.
